Corey Creek Vineyards is a division of Bedell Cellars, one of the finest wine producers in the Long Island Wine Region. Kip and Susan Bedell planted their first grapevines here in 1980, with Kip earning the moniker “Mr. Merlot” in Wine Spectator Magazine.
In 2000, Bedell Cellars and the Corey Creek Vineyards were sold to art collector and film executive Michael Lynne. It is led by 30-year veteran winemaker Rich Olsen-Harbich.
Corey Creek’s tasting room and gift shop is an airy, barn-like building with glass doors opening onto a wide, south-facing outdoor deck. The high elevation of the tasting room gives visitors spectacular views both inside and out overlooking the vineyard. It is the perfect setting to enjoy Corey Creek wine and experience the North Fork. Corey Creek is renowned for its distinctive Reserve Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, both won the “Best in New York State” distinction for 2006.
Corey Creek’s wines are made from grapes grown on three vineyard sites totaling approximately 80 planted acres: Bedell Home Vineyard on the Main Road in Cutchogue behind our winery and tasting room; Corey Creek Vineyards on Main Road in Southold, adjacent to the Corey Creek tasting room; and Wells Road Vineyard on Main Road in Peconic.
The Corey Creek tasting room is open May – November, seven days a week. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday is it open 12pm-9pm for the Twilight series. Sunday and Wednesday it is open 12pm-5pm. Friday and Saturday it is open 12pm-7pm. Reservations are advised for the tasting room.
The Twilight Series is a highlight of the North Fork wine region scene. Corey Creek hosts the event with live music, local food vendors, lawn games and regular wine tastings. Families are advises to bring their own blankets and chairs. Chef Noah Schwartz cooks on Mondays, Claudia Fleming of the North Fork Food Truck cooks on Tuesdays, and a variety of vendors rotate on Thursdays. Bryce Larsen is one of many regular performers who entertain visitors for an evening under the stars. Children are welcome and the event is very popular with local families, who regularly enjoy the Twilight Series week after week.
